Treasures of Non-Podhale Highlanders
The project “Treasures of Non-Podhale Highlanders” is an EEA Grants “Culture Programme”.
It is a joint initiative of the Map of Passions Foundation (Mapa Pasji) and five municipal cultural centers in southern Małopolska and the Norwegian company Håskog. These Polish regions have a rich cultural heritage, but are still poorly known internationally, especially the Małopolska region. The most famous Highlanders area is Zakopane in the Podhale region.
The project aims to spread knowledge about lesser-known “non-Podhale Highlander” cultures, attract new visitors interested in cultural heritage and local traditions, and develop good conditions for cultural activity.
The collaboration with the Norwegian company Håskog enables international exchange of experience in cultural entrepreneurship development, collaboration with folk artists and business (the tourism industry in particular), and testing of offerings in practice for foreign visitors.
The project will include cultural events, performances with "community theater", workshops with "QUESTS" and holiday events (workshops, art events, concerts).
All events should be accompanied by extensive promotional activities (Polish and English-language publications, information campaigns on social and traditional media, project promotion regional tools, etc.).
The project will take place in Poland and Norway in the period November 2022 - April 2024.
