Active citizens on the Heritage of the East Trail
From Oct. 2021 to Sep. 2023
The project “Active Citizens on the Heritage of the East Trail” is an EEA Grants “culture program”.
It is a joint initiative of the Map of Passions Foundation (Mapa Pasji - Poland), a local partner (Fundacija Kropka - Poland) and the Norwegian company Håskog.
The aim of the project is to activate and strengthen the civic engagement and integration of Ukrainian refugees among the residents of 10-12 villages/towns in rural areas of the Lublin region and its eastern part (Ruda-Huta, Wola Uhruska municipalities, Urszulin and Włodawa - city and commune).
Based on the development of the green ecotourism trail "Eastern Heritage" in Poland, this will be done through, among other things, web design and development of apps such as educational field games (Quests) which here constitute a modern, attractive and relatively inexpensive educational and tourist offer (www. questy.org.pl) .
The project will include extensive training of local leaders, a study visit to Norway to be presented with Norwegian experiences with, among other things, the development of sustainable tourism, theme villages, eco-museums, combating climate change and permaculture.
A total of 8 assignments will be developed within the project (PL and UA versions), workshops, destination development projects and local activities.
The results of the project will be disseminated through an information campaign and a final project conference.
In total, the project will involve at least 500 people, including young people.
Project partners:
